GETTING THE CORRECT DOG BED
It seems when we get our new dog, be it a puppy or even a rescue we rush out and buy them a new bed, some new toys and even new food bowls with no real thought put into what and why we are getting them.
Today I thought we might talk about dog beds and what would be the best type to get.
Every breed of dog requires different types of beds. Some like Snuggle Beds that they can bury themselves in, others like the soft fluffy type that they just floof in, and others may get a raised bed with some blankets on. All of these are great and might be some of the beds you buy over the many years you have your furbaby.
In my house we have 15 or more beds in different locations and my dachshunds use them all but the most ideal bed would be the Orthopedic Washable bed.
Why you might ask? Over the many years you have your dog it will need access to a bed that will be just perfect for their structure as well as perfect for when they might be unwell.
So, invest in a good Orthopedic Mattress Bed for Dogs like the one pictured. The great part about this bed is that it is washable. Being washable is a bonus in case your dog has an accident on it as well as having an waterproof lining.
If your dog prefers an Orthopedic mattress with Bolstered sides then check out this type out.
For a dog with IVDD then I recommend the pillow type Orthopedic Mattress Dog Bed.
So a recap on getting an Orthopedic Dog Mattress Bed it needs to be:
Washable with slip off cover
Waterproof (best for those little accidents)
Quality Memory Foam
Correct size for a dog crate (at least 36"/ 90cm on long edge)
thanks Jo!!
I got sucked into the big fluffy bed – she loves playing with it and does lay in it – but cant wash it!!
Plus these are far better priced options xx. Maisie thanks you too
